FAQ

Does it hurt?

The insertion is essentially painless — the needles are thinner than the ones used to draw blood. You may feel a brief involuntary muscle contraction when the needle reaches the trigger point. That contraction is the goal — it's the muscle releasing, and it's over in a second or two.

Is it the same as acupuncture?

No. Acupuncture is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and works with energy meridians. Dry needling is a Western orthopedic technique — we're targeting specific muscle trigger points to release them. Same tool, different training and different purpose.

How often do I need it?

It depends on what we're treating. Some conditions resolve in 1–2 sessions; chronic patterns may need it periodically alongside your movement work. We'll build a plan you're not stuck on forever.
